Sometimes I'd like to sit down and blog, but don't have the energy to edit photos to go with the post.
Sometimes I feel like I can't post if I don't have my own photos.
And sometimes I just don't know what to write about.
But that's ok; it's my blog and I'll post what I want to -and post when I want to.
What is it with blog images? I find that they really are so important (to me). I think I often get stuck thinking that a post image has to be a photo that I took. It doesn't. It could be somebody else's photo I find from a Creative Commons Flickr search; it could be an image I made solely with graphics; it could be an image that's typographical; I could 'hide' a poor photo by making it a faded background to something text-based. I could even *gasp* not add an image to a blog post! But don't worry, I get bored by that quickly, so it won't become a habit. I'm just daring myself to do it today.
I know from talking with other bloggers that I'm not alone in this. Still, I'm finding it helpful and encouraging just to type this out...and post it. Maybe it will encourage one of you, too. Thanks to all of you who keep reading and commenting no matter what!

Well, sadly the "no matter what" can't apply to me recently, as I haven't been to your blog for weeks...
What an interesting day to see your post and come back!
I agree with you, that I sometimes don't post on my blog, because I have no photo(s) or am too tired to edit them.
So I don't think I have anything to say.
Interesting how that is... I suppose it means I place a lot of emphasis on the visual things. I hardly ever post on my blog, without a photo -even if it's a public photo taken by someone else!
This post was short and it had no pictures.
But you know what? It was one of the most interesting posts I have read for a while, because it made me stop and think!
Thank you! (oh, and I'll be back again soon.. not quite so crazy-busy - I hope!)
I know what you mean. This hasn't been such a prolific blog year for me. It is a mixture of what should I write about, the picture taking and the actual writing of posts (it takes me foreverrr). I am hoping to find my way back.
I like to read post with our without photos, but definately don't mind when bloggers borrow images from other sources. It is your blog do what you want.
p.s. never feel the pressure just to write something because you feel others expect you to write. Those who force it I can tell. It feels more genuine when it comes from the heart-when a blogger really has something they want to share.
I do adore posting my own images - but loads of my blog content is spotting trends/things I adore elsewhere on the web too.. My thing is though however - if i feel like not posting, like my head is a bit empty - i take a little bloggy break for a few days, does wonders:)
Have a great day Juliette - always love what you post,
Axx
@Lizzie - I don't expect that people check here every day or read every post, but I do mean my 'regulars' (like you!). =) So thanks for coming back. =)
@Anya - yes, your blog rocks it's mission of showcasing the curator in you along with the authentic personal posts that keep it real; that's why I like it. =)
I tend to feature more my own little projects, so it sometimes makes me feel pressured...but like you and others have said, blog breaks are good! I will be taking one when we're on vacation this summer for sure! =)
I really am a girl that likes photos, and lots of them. There are blogs that are only text and I am not that motivated to read them, although I am not opposed to reading posts without pics. Borrowed images don't bother me as long as they are credited to the original source. Sometimes it's a picture that actually intices me to read. Often I am so short on time that I don't have time to read what ALL my favorite bloggers write... I would get nothing else done.
Photo editing and sorting sometimes also keep me from posting. Since I show so many of my projects, if I am having lots of other things on my plate, and less time to create, I feel like I don't have much to post about.
Sometimes it's important to simply say what you have to say and not always feel the pressure of a show and tell.
Still here. Still reading. Still plan to.
